Moving Tips to Get You to Your New Home With Less Hassle

The thought of moving can be quite overwhelming. If you have lived in your home for a long period of time it can be even more overwhelming to think about boxing up so much of your life. You can minimize the hassle of moving to a new home if you keep these tips in mind.

Make a List and Check it Twice!

Be sure you make a master list of everything you intend to pack and be specific. You can use a notebook or a computer program that allows you to list each item and what box it is in for your convenience when you have the boxes piled up in your new home. Whatever record keeping system works for you is the one to use. You will be thankful for it later.

Stock Up on Supplies

Moving supplies are not just about boxes. You will need a wide range of supplies to make your move easier on you. A label maker is always good to have, tape for boxes, newspaper without print or even bubble wrap to ensure your precious breakables stay free from damage, marking pens as well as anything else you can use to make the process of moving easier.

Color Coordinate Rooms and Their Boxes

If you designate a separate color for each of your rooms such as white for the kitchen, yellow for the bathroom, etc., it will make unpacking a breeze. Use colored labels or marking pens on the boxes and when you arrive at your new home, use colored post it notes outside of each room so that anyone will be able to find the room for each box.
